Elasticity
That’s the feature which comes to mind
When I think about loving you,
The stretchy bands loosen up along my heart
To embrace you with every beat made by my
throbbing organ,
But, when it came to losing you,
When it came to the hurt; the anguish
Or even seeing you in distress
It tightened, pulling everything together
In a suffocating embrace,
Choking me on my air,
But I can only hope the air I lose
Is breathed in by you,
In attempts to save some memory of us.
